On Sunday May 15th, 27 members and friends gathered at the home of the Peeks family for our first garden meeting of 2005. The weather was kind to us although it went a little chilly later in the afternoon.

Our good friend Mr Arthur Gillett of the Liverpool branch opened a hive and demonstrated the correct way to handle a colony to our newest members and our guests. Everybody brought cakes and goodies for the table. After tea and cakes he gave us a talk on Single Brood Chamber Management and Gathering a Swarm of Bees .

Then the barbecue was lit and we shared a drink or two, excellent conversation and some good food.

The Peeks family were very hospitable and we had a very enjoyable afternoon.
