The Bad Beekeeper's Club.....Bill Turnbull.

Bill bares his soul on Bee Keeping in this book. His stance that he is a bad bee keeper could bealmost anyone in their early years of the craft. He is clearly gained the knowledge and has strong opinions on some issues like the commercial use of bees for pollination. Its good to know that Bill has worked on the charity side and is involved in Bees for development. There is one point that I must raise although most will think it doesn't matter. He states that edible honey was found in the pyramids. Ahem well Bill this is not true in fact despite digging through tons of rubble and rock, nothing was found in the pyramids. Where I think this myth comes from (and I have heard people say it) Some honey was found in the tombs at the valley of Kings. Splitting hairs? Well some folks think a bubble bee is a honey bee.

On balance the book is an amusing read with some cringe worthy cock ups most would take to their grave. The reader who is not a bee keeper would be informed more for the read of the book.

No belly laughs but I enjoyed it.
